Hello, I need an opinion on this future car sound system. I have put a lot of time into this trying to make it exactly how i want it to sound, and perform. I want to go with nice clean crisp sound for treble, with a nice Thud from my sub-woofer. I don’t want to be heard down the street i want to accomplish a nice mix of both Vocals and Woofer, bottom of the line, i want a good set up… Its going to concede of (2) 10″ Energy 200Wrms, 600W Max Output Sub woofers. Connected to a Power Acoustik, 2 channel: 300Wrms x 2 Chan. 4 ohms.
This amp features bass boost, 2/1 chan option, 760Wrms Bridged x 1 chan :4 ohms. and a few other features on it that might be important, Along with a Absolute 2.4 Farad Capacitor, Includes an amp kit. ( I will give links to all product details ) Why did i choose this set up?

: I choose to do it with Energy’s line of new car audio, they are one of the better brands of home theater sound systems, with well known home theater sub woofers. I figure if they can be okay in that division, then maybe i should try this new line of car audio. who knows. I picked the Amp (Acoustik, 300Wrms x 2 chan) to power the energy sub woofers, maybe one day i might get a 12″ 700Wrms sub to Mess around with. The Amp and Sub Woofer have an alright rating, they just have no reputation like Pioneer, Jl, Mtx, Alpine, Kenwood and etc… etc…) LINKS:

Now the mid level I want to get (2) Energy 2 way 5″ 1/4, Car Speakers, 85 Wrms, Connected To a Pioneer 4 Channel: 75Wrms x 4 Channels. Amplifier. Can Also Be Bridged for: 200Wrms. x2 channel (Also in case that cheap Acoustic Thing breaks down, Haha). Im going to install these speakers in the back seat on the ceiling Trim, right behind rear passengers heads…?

NOW for my lows, its very simple im taking my stock speakers on front door panels and connecting it to my Pioneer CD Deck along with Amp 1, and amp 2. The deck is 50W x 4 MOSFET.

*The higher the low-pass frequency filter is, the more higher of a frequency range that your sub is gonna power and reproduce. however, most ranges higher than 200Hz are not necessary to be reproduced by the subs; thats what your speakers are for. some people look for a higher frequency response so that they can put this frequency in what is called a “transition band”, in which the subs will give the extra bass to a mid note that can also be given to the speaker (so they can feel the vibration while hearing the sound from the speakers). however, this transition band should also peak at a low frequency in the amp for the sub (125Hz-200Hz), because subs are designed for low frequencies, and feeding it high frequencies increases the chances of causing damage to the sub (same reason you dont put your BASS setting on your head unit all the way up…your spea
speakers will sound like crap). also, this transition band range should be limited, because should your speakers be out of sync with the sub, this band will have the frequency waves cancel each other out, either minimal with nothing noticable to extreme where that band will completely cancel each other out. you could play with the Q curves, but this is beyond what you need.

nevertheless, it really doesnt matter what the high-end frequency response is for the sub, because ultimately its the amplifier thats going to be powering it. most amps that are designed for subs (aka class D amps) cut off at 250Hz anyways. however, if you do wish to power the sub with a class AB amp (to produce the mid-low bass), then a wider range frequency response would work well for that setup in order to produce the mid-lows.
